Description
The emperor angelfish (Pomacanthus imperator) is a species commonly found on reefs in the Indian and Pacific Oceans. What’s shown here is actually a juvenile – adult fish have yellow and blue stripes, with black around the eyes. Their vibrant colours make them a favorite in the aquarium trade. Like most angelfish, the emperor is a voracious omnivore that will feed on almost anything, although sponges and algae make up its primary diet.
